Body found in hunt for missing man, 84

POLICE in North Yorkshire searching for a missing 84-year-old man today discovered a body.

John Symington was last seen getting off a coach at the Breezy Knees Nurseries in Warthill, a village on the outskirts of York near Stockton on the Forest, at 3.45pm on Wednesday.

A body was spotted this afternoon in a wooded area about 400 metres from the nursery.

Police said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

Mr Symington’s family in Dundee has been informed.

Yesterday a helicopter search was mounted after he failed to return to the coach yesterday.
