Body found in Leeds woodland

A POLICE investigation is under way following the discovery of a body in Leeds.

The grim find was made by a member of the public in woodland near the junction of Easterly Road and Wetherby Road at about 2.30pm on Wednesday.

It is not yet clear how long the remains had been in the woods.

Today the scene remained cordoned off as police carried out forensic and other specialist checks.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said: “Police were called to reports of possible human remains in woods near the junction of Easterly Road and Wetherby Road.

“A scene has been established and inquiries are ongoing.”
