Boy stabbed in Bradford

A 15-year-old boy was being treated for stab wounds today after he was attacked in a street.

West Yorkshire Police said the teenager was in a “serious but stable” condition at Bradford Royal Infirmary following the assault, which also included being hit with a bat.

Officers said the incident happened in Amberley Street, in the Barkerend area of Bradford, at about 4pm yesterday.

A police spokesman said: “He sustained stab wounds to his body and is believed to have been assaulted with a bat during an incident.”

He said a 14-year-old boy and a 24-year-old man have been arrested in connection with the incident and remain in police custody.

“Neighbourhood Policing Team officers are patrolling the area and speaking to local residents to offer reassurance,” he said.

Police have appealed for witnesses.
