A MAN who was arrested after police found more than £2,000 of cannabis in the loft claimed his landlord had force him to look after it.

West Yorkshire Police officers searched Timothy McComb’s flat on York Road, Leeds, on July 9 last year and made the discovery.

McComb, 37, was arrested a week later at his mother’s home in Leeds after she contacted police to report him missing. He turned up at her home while officers were there and was found in possession of a small amount of cannabis.

McComb told officers his landlord had ordered him to store cannabis in the loft and had threatened him with violence. McComb was arrested again on February 28 this year at his flat in Seacroft when residents reported items being thrown from the tower block. A DVD player and other items were being thrown by McComb from his balcony. Some of the items dented a car parked below. McComb was in possession of a knife and and a ballbearing gun when they arrived at the flat and police had to use a taser to restrain him. McComb, of Ramshead Heights, was under the influence of cannabis at the time of the incident and has been in prison on remand since.

He pleaded guilty possession of cannabis with intent to supply, three offences of possessing cannabis, threatening behaviour and criminal damage.

The court heard he has been receiving treatment for his drug issues since the incident.
