Cases of a man enticing girls in Hornsea are being investigated by police

Police are linking two separate incidents in east Yorkshire where a man has tried to entice teenage girls.

The first one was on Thursday July 27 at 5.45pm where a 15 year-old Hornsea girl reported she was approached by a man as she was walking home on Bank Terrace. The man pulled up beside her in his car, asked for directions and for her to get into the car. She refused and told her parents who reported it to Humberside Police.

In the second case, which was at 5.20pm last Thursday, a 17 year-old girl was walking along Rolston Road also in Hornsea when she was approached by a man who is alleged to have grabbed at her. He had been trying to talk to her at the roadside while cars passed by on the B1242. Again she managed to get safely home and raise the alarm.

Humberside Police are keen to identify the man who is thought to have been involved in both incidents, described by the girls as being black and between five feet nine and eleven inches tall and are appealing to drivers on that stretch of road that saw it or may have dashcam footage.
