Children's cancer charity collection box stolen from shop - CCTV appeal

A THIEF who stole a children's cancer charity collection box from a shop in Skipton is being hunted by police.

North Yorkshire Police have released a CCTV image of a man they want to trace after the Clic Sargent charity box was stolen from the H Samuel jewellery shop on High Street, Skipton,.

It happened at around 12pm on Monday May 1 while staff were busy dealing with customers.

Officers are asking for help to identify the man shown in the CCTV image. He is described as white, aged 50 to 60, of stocky to large build, with a bald head and a grey and dark goatee beard. He was wearing a black waist length jacket, blue denim jeans and dark coloured shoes.

Officers are also appealing to anyone who may have found a discarded charity box marked with Clic Sargent to contact them.

Anyone who can help identify the man or has any other information that could assist the investigation is asked to call police on 101, select option 2, and ask for Rich Sutcliffe.
