Couple held hostage by gang while Leeds house is ransacked

A LEEDS couple were held hostage by a gang of robbers while their house was ransacked.

Police have now issued e-fit images of two of the thieves they are looking for over the raid in Tyersal, near Pudsey.

Detectives say the pair were among four or five men who got into the property in Tyersal Grove after banging on the door to get the man living there to come outside.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “He and his wife were then restrained by the men who entered the property and confronted the couple’s adult daughter.

“The men searched the house and stole cash and jewellery.

“The couple received minor injuries in the incident.”

One of the gang was black, in his mid-20s and about 6ft tall, with a chubby face and a clear complexion. He was stocky, with light hazel or brown eyes and a shaven head.

The other was said to be possibly eastern European and had acne scars on his face. He was aged in his mid-20s, about 5ft 8ins tall and skinny. He had a narrow jaw, a thin pointy nose and short dark hair.

The incident happened at about 9.25pm on Saturday, August 31.
