Fifteen-year-old Lewis James Steeley of the Ings Estate in Hull has been issued a two year Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) which prevents him from entering certain parts of the city, associating with two other boys in public, causing alarm and distress and it also orders him to leave a premises when asked by the owner.

The order, granted by the Youth Court at Hull Magistrates Court earlier this month, comes after a sustained incident in the city on Tuesday 17 January.

Humberside Police were called after a group of youths started banging on the windows and walking into stores using foul and abusive language towards staff and the public on Savoy Road. It was clear that Steeley was the main offender of the distress caused to staff and customers and he was arrested for a section 5 public order offence.

PCSO Mark Warelow from Community Policing said: “I am delighted that Lewis James Steeley has been given a Criminal Behaviour Order, because his behaviour has negatively affected businesses in East Hull for too long. He and his associates have regularly been linked with anti-social behaviour and disorder, causing a great deal of distress to people working in the area.

“If Steeley's behaviour does not improve we will use the extra powers available to us to take action in order to stop him impacting on the local community. I hope he curbs his behaviour, however if he doesn’t he will be arrested. If people do see him breaching his conditions they should call us on 101 or 999 in an emergency so we can take action.

“The local Community Policing Team will continue to apply for these powers for anyone adversely affecting the community.”
