The man asked him if he had ordered a pizza and the occupant said he had not. As he shut the door he saw another male with his face covered holding what he believed to be a baseball bat.

It is believed the bat was used to smash a pane of glass on the door before the offenders ran off.

Detective Inspector Andy Howard, of Bradford District CID, said: "We believe these males ran off towards a white hatchback-style car which was waiting nearby. This is described as looking similar to a Peugeot model.

"Our enquiries are continuing to trace this vehicle and we would like to hear from anyone who saw a similar vehicle in the Eccleshill area in the time leading up to this incident.
