Disappearance of Zoe Zaremba from rural North Yorkshire "out of character", police say

Fears are growing for a vulnerable 25-year-old woman who vanished in the middle of the night, with police describing her disappearance as "out of character".

Zoe Zaremba was last seen by her mother at home in rural Bedale at around 11pm on Saturday, June 13, as she said goodnight.

The next day her mother went to check on her, only to find her gone. Her phone had also been left at home and Miss Zaremba is thought to have no money or means of transportation.

Speaking to The Yorkshire Post, Inspector Sarah Sanderson said it was extremely out of character for Miss Zaremba to go missing with no contact for such a long period of time, adding that the force was very worried for her safety.

"Zoe was last seen at 11pm on Saturday by her mum," Insp Sanderson said.

"When her mum went to see her in her bedroom the next day she was gone. She is distraught and wants her home."

Police said there were no suspicious circumstances at present, with officers having swept the area around her home in Aiskew and spoken to all possible contacts.

Despite this, Miss Zaremba has not been on social media where she is normally active.

Insp Sanderson added: "It is out of character for Zoe to be missing for this long. Four days is an extremely concerning length of time and raises massive concerns about her well being."

"Although she is 25, she is very, very young to look at and she easily appears to look around 15 to 16."

Mountain rescue teams and a police helicopter are also currently involved in the search for Miss Zaremba and the force is appealing for all those who live, work, or pass through the Aiskew area to check CCTV, dashcam footage and doorbell cameras, while residents are also urged to check sheds, outhouses or barns.

The 25-year-old was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt with a "Keep Calm" slogan, as well as purple joggers and white and purple trainers. She is 5ft 6ins tall, of slim build with brown hair often worn in a ponytail, and is also known to wear a silver heart-shaped necklace with an orange jewel.

Anyone with any information that can help locate Miss Zaremba is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police.
