The red Honda Civic was travelling along Manningham Lane towards Keighley at 7.35pm yesterday when it mounted the kerb and struck a bollard on the pavement and the corner of a building on Hamilton Street.

West Yorkshire Police say the occupants of the Civic, two 18-year-old men from Bradford, were pronounced dead at the scene.

They were today named on the website Facebook as Hamza Ali and Ather Ayaz.

A man and a woman, both aged 20, were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and later released on bail.

Sergeant Ann Drury, of West Yorkshire Police’s Major Collision Enquiry Team, said officers believed the Honda was involved in an incident with a Silver Audi A4 in the moments leading up to the collision.

She said: “We would appeal for anyone who witnessed this or the movements of other vehicle prior to it contact the Major Collision Enquiry Team by calling 01924 293047 or 101.”
