Drug man jailed over steroid find

POLICE found more than 25,000 steroid tablets worth more than £50,000 when they searched a caravan in Leeds

The officers also seized more than a kilogramme of amphetamine, worth a further £10,000 in the search in Middleton in December, 2009.

Papers indicated the caravan had been used on occasions by Daniel Andrew Hornshaw who was then bailed while the items seized were tested, Leeds Crown Court heard yesterday.

He subsequently failed to answer his police bail but was arrested last year with another man who was driving on the M6 with £250,000 of cannabis in the boot.

Carmel Pearson, prosecuting, told the court for that possession with intent to supply Hornshaw received 42 months in jail last December, while the driver received four years.

Hornshaw, 23, of Throstle Road, Middleton, Leeds, was yesterday given a further 12 months consecutive to his current sentence for the 2009 conspiracy to supply the amphetamine and Benzylpiperazine tablets.

Judge Gillian Matthews said she accepted he was already serving a lengthy sentence but there had to be some additional term.
