Drugs worth £1m seized in crackdown

POLICE have made 127 arrests and seized £1.3m worth of stolen goods in just three weeks in Sheffield as part of a campaign to tackle burglary and vehicle crime.

South Yorkshire Police’s Operation Lockdown involves action in targeted locations across the city and the use of ‘sting’ vehicles to catch offenders.

So far two vehicles, each worth £30,000, jewellery and electrical items such as mobile phones and tablets, and drugs with a street-value of just more than £1m have been recovered as part of the activity in Sheffield, known as ‘K2’.
