A concerned member of the public called the emergency services on Tuesday night to the home in North Duffield, Selby.

They said they had been watching a live Facebook stream in which a person appeared to fall asleep while smoking.

The caller believed the room was filling up with smoke on the video.

However, on arrival the call turned out to be a false alarm according to the North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service.

The resident was fit and well and had 'simply fallen asleep'.

A smoke alarm was fitted by fire crews in attendance.
