First photograph of Doncaster woman whose death triggered murder probe

A woman whose death triggered a murder probe in Doncaster has been named today as Amanda Sedgwick.

The 49-year-old was found dead at a property in Manor Way, Askern, at around 11pm on Tuesday, May 19 and a 48-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder.

He has since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

South Yorkshire Police said: “An investigation is underway into the death of Amanda.

“A 48-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder. He has since been released under investigation while enquiries continue to ascertain the exact circumstances surrounding Amanda’s death.

“Her family are being supported by specially trained officers.

“Officers investigating are urging anyone with information to contact them.”
