Fresh appeal by police over missing Ben

A MAN seen speaking to missing Ben Clarkson shortly before he disappeared in York has come forward after a police appeal.

Ben, 22, originally from Leeds, has not been seen since 3.40am on March 2 in the Layerthorpe area of York.

An 18-year-old York man came forward after his image was released by North Yorkshire Police on Monday.

He confirmed that he spoke with Ben in Fibbers nightclub in the early hours of March 2 and saw him outside the club at 3am but said he is not the man who was seen walking along Layerthorpe at the same time as Ben.

The person police still want to come forward is a white man, wearing a light coloured jacket with dark trousers and shoes.

Inspector Neil Drummond, of York Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “If you could be the man who walked along Layerthorpe at the same time as Ben, I ask you to get in touch with us as soon as possible as I believe you will have noticed Ben walking across the street from you.”

Anyone who can help should call police on 101.
