Gang used car to smash
their way into store

POLICE are hunting a gang who used a stolen car as a battering ram to smash into a Cash Converters store.

The K-reg blue Vauxhall Frontera was driven into the back of the store, on Gleadless Road, Sheffield, at around 2.40am on Saturday.

Police disturbed the gang
while they were in the store and they escaped, leaving the car behind.

Earlier, the same car is believed to have been used in a burglary at a convenience store in Morland Road, also in the Gleadless area of the city.

A gang of around four or five man wearing dark clothing broke into the Mick and Jenny’s store at around 1.35am. They tried and failed to take away a cash machine but still managed to escape with a quantity of cash.

The Vauxhall Frontera was originally stolen four days earlier
from the Nether Edge area of Sheffield.

Police have appealed for anyone who may have seen the vehicle between January 22 and 26 to come forward.
