Halifax schoolboy is beaten unconscious for £4 dinner money

The teenager, who has not been named, lost consciousness in the attack in an alleyway that runs from Bracewell Drive to Ovenden Green, Halifax.

Police said he walked towards two men who were already in the alleyway. As he passed them he was hit on the back of the head and knocked to the floor. The men then continued to attack him, causing him to lose conciousness.

When he came round the boy found that four pound coins had been stolen out of his wallet. He was taken to Calderdale Royal Hospital where he was treated for injuries to his face and chest.

His attackers are both described as in their 30s and of scrawny build. One had a shaved head, and was wearing blue jeans and a black track suit top. The other had scruffy brown hair, and wore a grey tracksuit, and his top front teeth were missing.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the attack which happened at 8.30 am on March 13.

Det Inspector John Priestley of Calderdale CID said: “This was an unprovoked and violent attack on a schoolboy who was just on his way to school.

“It is clear to me that someone in the area must know who these two men are from the detailed descriptions given by the victim. “
