Heavily pregnant woman robbed at knifepoint at Batley Cemetery

A heavily pregnant woman has been robbed at knifepoint at Batley Cemetery.

It happened on Wednesday, July 1 at about 8.30pm.

The victim, a woman in her 30s, was sitting in the grounds of the cemetery when she was approached by a man who demanded she handed over money.

The suspect threatened her with a knife, before taking cash from the victim’s purse.

He then made off in the direction of Cemetery Road.

The suspect is described as white, tall and of skinny build. He is believed to be in his 30s and was wearing a grey top and blue trousers.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed a man matching this description in the area, or making off down Cemetery Road, to contact them.
