Hull’s pot-bellied rapist is finally jailed - 28 years on

A ‘POT-BELLIED’ rapist who dragged a ten-year-old girl into bushes was finally jailed today - three decades after the event.

Michael Acey, 42, of Britannia Gardens, Hull, admitted raping the girl as she walked home from school near Bilsdale Grove, Hull, in April 1984.

Acey, who acquired the nickname of pot-bellied rapist locally after the event, was caught after a police “cold case review” matched his DNA to that found at the crime scene.

Today at Hull Crown Court, he was jailed for 10 years.

Judge Michael Mettyear told Acey he had stolen the girl’s childhood.
