Hunt for missing Leeds man Joseph Shann continues after murder police bail pair

Detectives investigating the disappearance of a missing Leeds man have again appealed for information after releasing two men arrested on suspicion of his murder.

As reported, West Yorkshire Police’s homicide and major inquiry team arrested a 39-year-old and a 45-year-old yesterday morning on suspicion of murdering of Joseph Shann.

Mr Shann, who would now be 37, has not been seen for nearly 20 months after leaving his sister’s home in East End Park for a night out on December 10, 2010.

Despite intensive enquiries, he has never been found.

Officers have now released the two men on bail pending further investigations – and have once more asked the public to come forward with any information that would help them discover the truth.

Det Chief Insp Jon Morgan, who is leading the investigation, said: “If anyone has any information about Joseph, no matter how insignificant you feel it may be, please come forward and speak to us.”

Mr Shann, who was unemployed and lived in Burmantofts, has the initials ‘JS’ tattooed on his right shoulder.

Anyone with information should call Crimestoppers on: 0800 555111 or police on 101.
