Inquest rules woman killed by ex-lover inquest

A WOMAN was killed unlawfully by her bodybuilding ex-boyfriend who hanged himself, a coroner ruled yesterday.

Nicola Mundy recorded a verdict of unlawful killing for Gabrielle Stanley, 28, and suicide by hanging for Simon Hall, 36.

The hearing at Doncaster Crown Court was told Miss Stanley suffered 30 stab wounds at the home she formerly shared with Hall in Scawsby, Doncaster, on October 26 and later died in hospital. Hall’s body was also found at the address. He had warned friends he would kill her so “no one else” could have her.

Following the inquest, Detective Sergeant Lee Berry, of South Yorkshire Police, said: “This was a tragic and devastating incident and I hope that the conclusion of proceedings today brings some closure to Gabrielle’s family, as they begin to move onto the next step in their grieving process.”
