Inquest into supermarket death

The inquest into the death of a mother who killed herself at an Asda supermarket has been opened.

Bradford Coroner’s Court heard the circumstances surrounding Sobia Yousef’s death in Shipley on Tuesday were “dramatic and horrific”.

The body of the 36-year-old from Shipley was released for a funeral yesterday. Assistant coroner Oliver Longstaff said that when events took place nobody was sure of the identity of the woman.

Media coverage of Ms Yousef stabbing herself to death led one woman to believe it may be her aunt and she contacted police.
