Investigation launched after 5G phone mast set on fire in West Yorkshire

A 5G phone mast was set on fire in the early hours of this morning.

Emergency services were called to Otley Road, Bradford, at 3.39am following reports that a phone mast was on fire.

A large police cordon was put in place and a number of roads remain closed as firefighters and police investigate the scene.

Police are treating the fire as arson and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "An investigation is ongoing to establish the circumstances.

"Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area is asked to contact the police via 101 quoting crime reference number 13200454024 or via the LiveChat.

"Information can be passed to independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
