Jail for armed robbers after off-licence raid

A PAIR of robbers who escaped with several hundred pounds after an armed raid on a Sheffield off-licence have been jailed for a total of eight-and-a-half years.

Mustafa Suleiman and Aafi Mohamed, who was armed with an air rifle, burst into Bargain Beers on West Street at around 5.40am on November 8 last year.

The pair, masked by balaclavas, threatened the terrified shopkeeper and demanded money from the tills, escaping with several hundred pounds along Convent Walk and then Cavendish Street.

After being tracked down by South Yorkshire Police both admitted robbery and possession of an imitation firearm at Sheffield Crown Court.

Suleiman, 20, of Netherthorpe, Sheffield, has now been jailed for four years while Mohamed, 19, from Moss Side, Manchester, was jailed for four-and-a-half years.
