Jail term for knife attack woman

A WOMAN who left a man in a critical condition in hospital after attacking him with a knife has been jailed for 20 months.

Kimberley Gabbitas, 25, of no fixed address, Sheffield, admitted inflicting grievous bodily harm on her 53-year-old victim near the city’s Royal Hallamshire Hospital in August. The man was in hospital for weeks but is now recovering at home. Gabbitas was jailed yesterday at Sheffield Crown Court.

Detective Inspector Graham Bulmer of South Yorkshire Police said: “This sentence sends the message that if you carry a knife and harm someone with that knife, you will be arrested, charged and prosecuted.”
