Jeremy Corbyn's son Tommy '˜attacked at York nightclub'

North Yorkshire Police are investigating an attack on a man reported to be Jeremy Corbyn's son at a York nightclub.

Tommy Corbyn, who is studying electrical engineering at the University of York, is understood to have claimed he was headbutted at Mansion Nightclub in Micklegate in the early hours of Saturday.

The Labour leader’s 22-year-old son is the events manager of the university of York’s Palestinian Solidarity Society and reportedly spent the evening helping to organise a party for a Palestine hip-hop event.

North Yorkshire Police have confirmed they are investigating an incident, but would not confirm national media reports that Mr Corbyn was the victim.

In a statement the force said: “Police in York are investigating an allegation of assault on a 22-year-old man. The incident occurred at the Mansion Nightclub, Micklegate, between 4am and 4.30am on Saturday.

“The victim, who suffered a cut to his eye, reported the matter to North Yorkshire Police at 1.26pm on Saturday. Enquiries are on-going to investigate the full circumstances surrounding the incident. Nobody has been arrested.”
