Wilson, of Syke Road, Tingley, admitted assault and criminal damage to a TV.

He was handed an eight month jail sentence suspended for eight months.

Prosecutor, Michael Collins, said the couple’s 13-year relationship started to deteriorate around three-years ago after Miss Winterburn said Wilson started to become “angry, argumentative and occasionally violent.”

Mr Collins said the couple had separated in 2015 but got back together last year and were living together when the incident happened last July.

Mr Collins said Wilson threatened Miss Winterburn and damaged a TV during an argument on the evening of July 21.

The court heard Wilson became aggresive and abusive when she asked him to leave the following morning.

Mr Collins said: “He grabbed and squeezed her right wrist. She felt it being twisted and felt a pop and she screamed in pain.”

Mitigating, Mohamnned Rafiq, said: “When this incident happened she did pick up his possesions and was using them as missiles.

“One broke and one got damaged very badly. In his mind he was trying to stop her.”

Mr Rafiq said Miss Winterburn said the relationship is over.
