Leeds Railway Station attack: CCTV images released

A MAN had his jaw broken after trying to defend his friend in an early hours fight at Leeds Railway Station.

British Transport Police have now issued these CCTV pictures of two men they want to talk to about the attack.

The 18-year-old, from Silsden, was waiting with friends at the taxi rank on New Station Street outside the station at about 4.30am on Sunday when they were confronted by another group of men.

His friend was allegedly punched in the face and knocked into the road.

When the 18-year-old tried to intervene he was grabbed from behind, punched and knocked to the floor, striking his head on the kerb.

Det Con Tom Eastwood, of British Transport Police, said: “The victim required hospital treatment, his jaw was broken in two places which required surgery.

“I would like to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or recognised the two men pictured, to contact police.”
