He is described as a black male in his late thirties, wearing a t-shirt, jeans and steel toe-capped boots. He was said to be with a boy, aged about six or seven, wearing what appeared to be school uniform.

Police are investigating the incident. A spokesman said the man sat down next to the girls on a bench and began talking to them, then touched one of them on the leg.

The school’s letter to parents said: “Although, at this time, we do not perceive there to be a significant risk, we would encourage students to be vigilant when walking to and from school.”

Anyone with information should call 101.
