Leeds street robbers stamped on victim's head

POLICE hunting two teenage robbers who launched a brutal attack on a man outside Leeds bus station have issued CCTV images of the suspects.

The robbers punched their victim and stamped on his head during the attack, which happened on St Peter’s Street just after 4pm on New Year’s Eve.

They stole a white iPhone 4, a baseball hat and a small amount of money.

Their victim was taken to hospital for treatment after suffering concussion and facial injuries.

PC Alex Daniels of Leeds CID, said: “This was a frightening ordeal for the victim after he suffered a violent attack in the street.

“The two suspects stole his mobile phone and hat before running away from the scene. I would like to urge anyone who was in the area on New Year’s Eve or anyone who has any information to contact the police to help with the ongoing investigation.”

Both suspects are described as being black or Asian and 16 or 17-years-old. One is described as a thin, 5ft 10in tall teenager who was wearing a black jacket.

The second suspect, who is described as having a muscular build, was wearing blue gloves and a blue jacket with a dark blue top half with lighter blue on the bottom half.
