Leeds student nurse due to graduate to help NHS has uniform and placement book stolen by crowbar-wielding thieves

A student nurse from Leeds had her uniform and placement book stolen by crowbar-wielding thieves in Headingley.

Amy Cook, 20, was due to graduate early from her third year university nursing course to assist with the NHS.

However, Amy said this may now be delayed because her placement book had been stolen in the burglary.

They also stole the rucksack she takes to hospital which had all of her placement booklets.

Distraught Amy told the Yorkshire Evening Post that her work helping the NHS deal with coronavirus could now be in jeopardy unless her placement booklets are returned.

Amy said: "They got in with a crow bar while we were in the living room next door.

"They took two bags, my handbag with my ID, cards and keys, so I had to change all the locks.

"Then my rucksack I take to the hospital which had my booklets in for placement [was taken].

"I'm supposed to be graduating early to help with coronavirus but this could potentially be delayed because all of my skills are in the booklet."

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "At 12.54pm yesterday (8/4) police received a report of a burglary which occurred at about 6.40pm on Tuesday (7/4) at an address in Manor Drive, Headingley.
