Major road closed in Hull after man hit by moped and car

Humberside Police said a 24-year-old man had been taken to hospital after he was hit by a Suzuki moped and then a Ford Focus at around 3.40am.

He is said to be in a stable condition and his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The incident took place close to the McDonalds restaurant on the Kingston Shopping Centre.

A statement from Humberside Police said: "The incident was reported to police at 3.40am today.

"A moped, black Ford Focus car and a pedestrian were all involved.

"It would appear a silver coloured Suzuki moped was in collision with a pedestrian and the Ford Focus was then in a further collision with the pedestrian.

"The road was closed in both directions between Mount Pleasant and Barnsley Street and at this time remains closed to allow the scene to be properly examined.

"The injured pedestrian, a 24-year-old man from Hull, has been taken to hospital and at this time is said to be stable with non-life threatening injuries.

"Any witnesses to the incident who have not yet given their account to officers should call 101 referring to log 65 of July 27."
