A 19-year-old man will appear in court this month over reports that shots were fired in Sheffield.
Osai Irele-Domingo, of Craddock Mews, Sheffield, has been charged with possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence following the incident in Samuel Close in the South Yorkshire city on July 23 at about 6.40pm.
He appeared at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court on Friday and is due to appear at Sheffield Crown Court on Friday August 26.
Meanwhile South Yorkshire Police’s campaign giving members of the public the opportunity to safely hand in firearms and knives ended today.
Superintendent Shaun Morley said: “We are committed to tackling criminality relating to firearms and organised crime groups, and South Yorkshire Police will continue to relentlessly pursue anyone found to be involved in this kind of activity.
“The force has a number of specialist officers and resources dedicated to pursuing those involved in any kind of gun crime. We will always look to explore every opportunity to identify those involved and bring them to justice.”
