Man, 37, arrested over ‘suspicious’ death

A MAN was held by police yesterday investigating the “suspicious” death of a man in his 20s found outside a house.

Officers were called to the address on St Lawrence Street, Snaith, near Goole, just after 8am yesterday.

Police want to hear from anyone with information or who were in the Market Place and St Lawrence Avenue areas of Snaith during the late evening and early hours of Saturday/Sunday.

Deputy Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Inspector Paul Dixon said: “We have arrested a 37-year-old man in connection with this incident but we have a lot more enquiries to do in order to establish the victim’s whereabouts and what happened to him leading to his body being discovered.

“I am appealing to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area to contact us.”
