Humberside Police said they had reports that a motorbike, being ridden off-road on Rosmead Park, near Southcoates Lane in Hull, was in collision with the boy, who was a pedestrian, at around noon on Monday.

The boy has been taken to hospital for treatment.

The rider of the bike - who was said to be riding without a helmet or shirt - did not stop and left the scene of the collision, police said.

Officers conducted a search of the area and police issued an urgent appeal to trace the motorbike rider.

At 3pm on Monday police said they had arrested a man and thanked the public for their help.
