Man attacked at Doncaster rail station

A THUG who kicked a man in the stomach at Doncaster rail station after he asked him to stop swearing is being hunted by British Transport Police.

Officers have released a CCTV image of a man they want to trace in connection with the incident, which happened in the travel centre at the station.

Police Constable Kevin Challinor, said: “The victim was standing in a queue at the travel centre waiting to purchase a ticket.

“He asked a man who was being verbally abusive and swearing at other customers to stop.

“The man reacted by lashing out and kicking the victim in the stomach.

“Quite understandably the victim was left shocked by this attack. No-one should be made to feel uncomfortable, intimated or concerned for their safety in this way, it is simply not acceptable.”

The incident happened at 8pm on Friday June 3, but police only released details today.

After reviewing CCTV, officers have issued an image of a man they want to speak to about the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40, or text 61016, quoting reference 199 of 12/07/2016.

Information can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
