Man badly injured and two arrested after violence at Leeds nightclub

POLICE arrested two teenagers after a man suffered a head wound when violence flared at Mission nightclub in Leeds city centre  in the early hours today.

British Transport Police were called to the club in Heaton's Court just before 3am today (Sat Feb 11) following reports of an "altercation."

A British Transport Police spokesman said: "Police attended and a 20-year-old man was taken to hospital by paramedics where he received treatment for a laceration to the head."

Investigating officer Detective Constable David Bentley, said: “The victim required multiple stitches for a nasty wound on his head after he was struck. He remains in hospital receiving treatment from medical staff.

“I am very keen to hear from anyone who was in Mission Nightclub last night who witnessed the clash leading to this man being injured.

“The club was very busy and I am conscious there are a significant number of people who may have information that is vital to our investigation.”

In connection with this incident a 19-year-old man from Leeds has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. Another 19-year-old man from Leeds has been arrested on suspicion of common assault. Both remain in police custody whilst enquiries continue.
