A man has been charged with the murder of Grimsby man Dean Southwick.
Humberside Police has revealed that Michael David Preston, 19, of Durban Road, Grimsby, has been charged with the murder of the 29-year-old and the attempted murder of an 18-year-old Grimsby man.
The charges relate to a disturbance in Churchill Way, Grimsby, yesterday in which Mr Southwick died and the second man was seriously hurt. The injured man remains in Hull Royal Infirmary.
Preston has been remanded in custody until Monday when he will appear at Grimsby and Cleethorpes Magistrates Court.
Yesterday Mr Southwick’s mother Lisa Briggs and her partner Trevor Day urged the local community to leave the investigation to the police.
