Man in court accused of raping woman in Rotherham park

A man has been charged over an attack in a Rotherham park in which a woman claims she was raped at knifepoint, police say.

The woman claims she was threatened with a knife, assaulted and raped in the early hours of Saturday morning at Kimberworth Park.

South Yorkshire Police said today (Wednesday) that Mohammed Naseer, 28, of Remount Road, was arrested by officers on Saturday and later charged with five counts of rape, one count of sexual assault and two counts of exposure.

Naseer was remanded in custody to appear before Sheffield Crown Court on Monday October 12.
