Man punched in face by robbers as children played on nearby road

A PAIR of robbers stole a man’s wallet after punching him in the face and threatening him with a knife in broad daylight.

The 34-year-old victim was carrying his orange mountain bike along an alleyway between Colescliffe Road and Oxcliffe in the Barrowcliff area of Scarborough when he was assaulted at 1pm on Tuesday.

Police say the attack was “committed in broad daylight in the middle of a housing estate where children were playing in the street”.

One suspect demanded the victim’s wallet before both punched him to his head and face. One of the suspects then threatened the victim with a small knife.

After taking the wallet, both suspects ran off onto Colescliffe Road where they turned right. The victim was left with a broken nose and facial injuries.

The first man is described as white, aged in his early 20s, approximately 6ft tall, with short mousey brown hair and a slightly larger than average build. He spoke with a local accent.

The second man is described as white, aged in his early 20s, 5ft 9ins tall, of medium build and was wearing a hat with ear flaps. Both men wore casual tracksuit type clothes.
