Man shot in face in airgun attack at West Yorkshire park

AN AIRGUN thug who shot a man in the face in an attack at a West Yorkshire park is being hunted by police.

The 25-year-old victim was walking in Holroyd Park, Ravensthorpe, Dewsbury, when the attack happened just before 7pm on Wednesday.

He suffered a small puncture wound to his cheek and was treated at hospital.

Det Cons Tony Marshall, of Kirklees District CID, said: “This appears to be an isolated incident but is clearly of concern.

“Anyone who was in the area who saw anything that they think may be connected, or anyone who has information about the person responsible, is asked to please call Kirklees District CID via 101. Or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
