Man stabbed after woman discovers burglars in their Rotherham home

A WOMAN was pushed to the floor after confronting two burglars in her own home - who went on to stab her husband.

Police in Rotherham are appealing for information after the incident.

The woman returned to her home in Selbourne Street, Eastwood, at around 8pm on Monday January 25, to find two men in her kitchen.

She reportedly challenged the men, who pushed her to the floor before leaving the property. A wallet is believed to have been stolen in the incident.

The woman’s husband heard the disturbance and chased the two men into Lindley Street where he was stabbed in the leg with a sharp object, by one of the men.

The first man is described as around 5ft 4 ins, of slim build, aged 17 to 23 with dark hair. He was wearing dark clothing.

The second man is described as around 5ft 3 ins, slim build, aged 17 to 23 with dark hair. He was also wearing dark clothing.

Any witnesses are asked to call police on 101 quoting incident number 983 of 25 January 2016.
