Masked gunmen raid bank in Bradford

Police are appealing for witnesses after a masked gang threatened staff at a bank with a gun before escaping with cash.

The three men walked into the branch on Fair Road, Wibsey, at about 4.15pm on Friday and brandished the handgun before stealing the cash and escaping in a dark grey Ford Focus.

The car was later recovered on Acre Lane.

Detective Inspector Andy Howard, of Bradford District CID, said: "Enquiries are ongoing into this crime and officers have recovered a car which we believe the suspects used to flee the scene.

"Although no-one was hurt, clearly this would have been a frightening incident for those at the bank and it is important that we locate those responsible.I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the robbery, or who saw three men fitting these descriptions entering or leaving the bank, to come forwards.

"Anyone who saw three men abandon a Ford Focus on Acre Lane should also contact the police."

The robbers were all of medium build and around 5ft 9ins tall. Two wore dark tracksuits. One wore a navy blue Umbro jumper.
