Masked robbers raid bank in Hull after breaking in through roof

MASKED robbers stole a large quantity of cash from a bank in Hull after using a ladder to break in through the roof.

At least three men were involved in the robbery at the Newland Avenue branch of Lloyds Bank, which took place at around 4.55pm on Tuesday, November 24.

Staff were working at the bank at the time but no one was injured.

The gang fled the scene in a grey Nissan Qashqai, heading in the direction of Goddard Avenue, before leaving the vehicle near an alleyway in Loveridge Avenue.

It is believed they then left the scene in a second vehicle.

The men were described as wearing dark clothing and balaclavas.

They were all of a slim build and around 5ft 8ins tall.

Detective Sergeant Christine Calvert, who is leading the investigation, said: “We are looking into a number of lines of enquiry.

“However, this is a really busy student area and someone must have seen something.

“Did you see anyone in the area with a set of ladders? Did you see the vehicle in Newland Avenue or the surrounding area?

“Was there a strange vehicle parked in the Loveridge Avenue area?

“We would urge anyone with information to get in touch.”
