Milkman needed 26 stitches after knifepoint robbery on round

A milkman had to have 26 stitches to his hand after he was attacked and had his van stolen in a knifepoint robbery in South Yorkshire.

South Yorkshire Police confirmed the man suffered "significant" injuries to his hand after he was attacked with a bladed weapon.

A 30-year-old man has now been charged in connection with the attack.

Daniel Bligh, of no fixed address, appeared at Sheffield Magistrates'Court today, charged with robbery and possession of a bladed article.

He was remanded in custody and will appear before the courts again on January 27.
