Missing teenage girls from Stamford Bridge and Pontefract seen at Leeds train station may have gone to Blackpool

Police are appealing for help in tracing two missing 16-year-olds who may have taken the train from Leeds to Blackpool.

Megan Beard, 16, from Stamford Bridge, was captured on CCTV at Leeds train station around 1:50pm on Sunday and is believed to have gone to Blackpool.

She is thought to be with Marissa Preston, 16, who has been reported missing to West Yorkshire Police.

Megan was reported missing to Humberside Police on Sunday.

Inspector Steve Jones, from Humberside Police, who is leading the investigation, made a direct appeal to the girls to get in touch.

He said: “Megan and Marissa, you’re not in any trouble but we need you to get in touch and let us know that you’re okay.

“I would also like to speak to anyone who has been in contact with the girls in the past 24 hours or can help us to find them."

Megan is described as around 5ft 5ins, with blonde hair with highlights.

She was last seen wearing pale blue beanie hat, a black leather jacket with a pale blue sweat shirt, black flares and white trainers and was carrying a rucksack.

Marissa is 5ft 3ins, very slim, with long mousey brown hair, which was tied up. She was last seen wearing blue jeans, a light grey jumper and a dark blue denim jacket.
