Mobile fruit and veg shop van shut down by police for being overweight

A mobile fruit and veg shop van has been shut down by police for being overweight.

Two sprinter vans were weighed by police in Bradford.

The vans - including one which was being used as a mobile shop - were found to be 32% overweight.

Both van drivers were fined £300 each.

The mobile shop was also shut down for the day, police confirmed.

The driver of the mobile shop was fined by police along with three others.

West Yorkshire Roads Policing Unit tweeted: "Yesterday Team 5 were weightwatching.

"The two sprinters were weighed and were identical being 32% (1140kg) overweight.

"Both fined £300 each.

"The mobile shop was shut down for the day as it was overweight and driver fined £300.

"3 others were also fined. #team5 #bikerboys"
