Murder enquiry launched after man dies with serious head injuries in West Yorkshire

Police have launched a murder enquiry in Brighouse after a man was found with serious head injuries in the early hours on Monday morning (April 6).

Officers were called at 1.36am by the Yorkshire Ambulance Service to Thornes Park, Brighouse.

The man, aged 33, from Rastrick, was taken to hospital but later died from his injuries.

Detective Chief Inspector Tony Nicholson of Protective Services (Crime) is leading the investigation.

He said: ‘"If anyone saw any suspicious activity in or around Thornes Park late on Sunday night or early on Monday morning then please get in contact.

"A man has sadly lost his life and I want to know what happened and why.

"A scene remains in place whilst extensive enquiries are carried out."

Two men, aged 44 and 32, and a 52-year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

They remain in police custody.
