Murder investigation launched in Batley after man, 20, dies

A murder investigation has been launched after an incident last night (Sunday) in Batley.

Officers were called to reports of an "altercation" on Park Croft shortly before 10.30pm.

A 20-year-old man was taken to hospital but later died.

A man has been arrested.

Messages sent to the YEP describe "scenes of pools of blood everywhere on the road".

The messages describe a victim having been stabbed "multiple times".

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "Enquiries into the incident remain ongoing

"Any witnesses are asked to call police on 101 quoting log 1925 of Sunday 21 June.

"A male has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody."
